About us

Black Lion Press was first established in 1982 by Bob Stokes the present Managing Director.

Our first location was in Penenden Heath, Maidstone, we rented a former farm building unit, starting out with a Heidelberg Kord and a few other basic pieces of kit. We quickly grew and soon installed a Roland 2 colour B2 Press, which just fitted, we also started a screen printing section.

After two years we had outgrown the buildings and moved to a 4500sq ft building in Tovil, Maidstone where we remained for 20 years, steadily expanding, and surviving each recession as it came along. It had long been our aim to buy our own unit and we eventually moved to our present site on Parkwood Industrial Estate, Maidstone in March 2007.

We now offer our broad base of customers a wide range of services from creative design to lithographic print, digital print and exhibition services, but still offering the same level of personal service that we have always prided ourselves on.
